Rolf Killius

For more than 20 years Rolf Killius has been a regular producer and writer of radio broadcastings and articles about south Asian and Arabic cultures for different Swiss (SRF), German (HR, SWR, and BR) and UK radio stations (Resonance FM). In this time he has written and prepared more than 100 one-hour programmes. 

Recently Rolf has written and produced eight hours of radio broadcast featuring music cultures from the Arabian Peninsula for the Bayerischer Runfunk in Munich/Germany. The themes of these one-hour radio shows are:

1. Music of Qatar and UAE
2. Music of Saudi Arabia 
3. Music of Kuwait
4. Music of Oman
5. Music of Iraq
6. Music of Yemen
7. Music of the Arabian Peninsula on shellac discs
8. Music of the immigrants on the Arabian Peninsula 

For the radio shows Rolf used shellac disks, his own recordings in Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen and Oman, numerous interviews with Gulf music experts/musicians and a few new commercial recordings.
