Rolf Killius has been working on an online sound exhibition called “Music from India” for the British Library Sound Archive. The Sound Archive opened to the public in April 2009. The project drew on recordings made by Rolf Killius in India from 1995 to 2007. The British Library and the Horniman Museum have since 2000 been working collaboratively with researcher Rolf Killius on the collection of musical instruments and audio-visual recordings from rural India. The work has culminated in an exhibition at the Horniman, called “Utsavam – Music from India”, which opened in February and run until 2 November 2008. The British Library is now presenting around 100 music examples on the audio delivery platform, Archival Sound Recordings (ASR), which will stay there indefinitely. |
